How I Like to Spend My "me" Time

How I Like to Spend My "me" Time

If you don’t have “me” time in your daily routine, you are truly missing out. We live in a world that is all about the hustle and bustle. We are always putting time into other things and tend to put ourselves last. This can only lead to a buildup of negative energy. Taking time for yourself is an absolute must and should be looked at as a luxury. For me personally, I like to have a lot of “me” time because I’m a introvert and that is where I find my energy to deal with life (lol).

Find a quiet place and try implementing some of what I do daily for your “me” time.

1. Light Candles and Essential Oils

I like to sit in a quiet area, preferably my room and just light candles to relax and unwind. I also love using essential oils to relax, such as lavender oil. At night I like to put a few drops of lavender oil on my pillow to help me relax even more.

2. Reflect and Create

During my “me” time I also like to just think (all positive thoughts) and create. I love this because I’m the most creative when I’m at peace and relaxed.

3. Affirmations

When I have “me” time I do a lot of positive affirmations. I try to reassure myself that I’m worthy for all the things I want and I affirm that I’m happy and growing daily. If you don’t understand the power of the tongue, let me tell you that this is probably the most powerful thing you can do daily. Start doing this alone and watch how much you will grow as a person.

4. Gratitude

I love to think about the things I’m grateful for and how God has me exactly where I should be in life. My life is ordained and my ending has already been created. There is peace in knowing that I don’t have to worry or stress about life, because I’m already taken care of. I show gratitude for all the things that I currently have in life and what is coming to me.

5. Pampering Myself

I don’t necessarily pamper myself daily, but I at least try once a week. Pampering myself may include an at home spa day, getting my nails done, hair done, shopping, and or going to a new restaurant.

6. Listening to Music

Music is a big therapy for me. I like to unwind and spend a chunk of “me” time listening to music. It puts me in a good head space and a very positive mood, which is always good.

7. Journaling

This is something that I absolutely do on a daily basis. I write down all the things that I think about and want to create, for my short term and long term goals. I even write down what I'm grateful for and what plans I have for my future.

It is important to realize that “me” time doesn’t have to be a long and drawn out process. You can literally take at least 10 minutes of your day to do some “me” time and gain some peace of mind. “Me” time will give you space and strength over time. The more you do, the happier and peaceful you will become.
