5 Skin Care Products You Can't Skip This Winter

Yes, winter time is here! and with winter comes a lot of dry and cracked skin. I use to really suffer in the winter, when it came to my skin. It seemed like nothing kept me moisturized and it didn't because I wasn't using the correct products. I know a lot of people go through similar situations in the winter, so I thought I would share what I used to help with those Winter Woes.

1. Start Using a Plant Based Cleanser

Get a cleanser that won't strip your natural oils. I use to use all types of OTC (Over The Counter) products to cleanse my face and that did nothing but dry my face out even more. Most OTC products have a lot of harsh chemicals in them. They can strip your face of its natural oils. Start using a cleanser that will clean your face, but won't strip it and make your skin feel dry.

2. Toner

If you don't already use a good toner, I would recommend you start using it this winter. A toner is going to balance your skins PH level, after you cleanse. It will also help to remove that extra dirt and oil, without drying out your skin. Also, a toner will add that extra moisture needed for the winter.

3. A Good Exfoliate

A lot of people don't realize that a good and gentle exfoliate really helps with all skin types; including dry skin.  It removes that barrier of dead skin, oil, and dirt. Which helps your moisturizer penetrate the skin better. Also, be sure NOT to over exfoliate. If you have dry skin, you can get away with doing this step once a week. If you have oily skin, you can exfoliate every other day.

4. Use a Moisturizer

After you do the first 3 steps; you will want to lock in the moisture by using a moisturizer. For some reason a lot of people skip this step, which is very unfortunate, especially for people with oily skin. I use two types of moisturizers. I use a morning cream and a night time moisturizer. This step alone, has helped me with my oily skin. Every skin type NEEDS a moisturizer.

5. Hydrating Mask

I recommend doing a hydrating mask at least once a week during the winter months. A lot of times we mistake our skin as being dry, but it may actually be dehydrated. Be sure to use this mask with a nice glass of wine, while you wait 45 minutes for the mask to do its job.

A good skin care regiment will definitely be needed during these harsh winter months. If you are looking for an affordable and effective regiment, just click the button below for your complimentary consultation.
