Why You Should Use A Toner
For a few years I've struggled with overly oily skin and large pores. My face was literally going super crazy and out of wack. I tried, what felt like everything out there to help with my oily skin.
It wasn't until I went to beauty school, I realized I was missing an important piece to the puzzle. I was missing a good plant based toner.
When you have oily or acne prone skin, and or wear makeup, a toner is super important in your beauty routine. A toner removes that built up oil, dirt, and makeup that your cleanser didn't get.
Toners can also Help With:
1. Restoring Your PH Balance
When you wash your face, you skin's PH balance gets out of wack due to the alkaline nature of the soap. This can then cause the skin to over produce oil (oily skin). To return it to its normal level, a toner can be used to help re-balance your PH level.
2. Shrink Large Pores
When you remove that dirt and oil from your skin, by using a toner your skin will give an appearance of smaller pores.
3. Refreshes the skin
If for some reason you need to freshen up and don't have much time to wash your face, a toner will do just fine. Also, on those hot days or if you are having hot flashes just spritz some toner on your face as a refresher.
4. Help With Acne
One of the causes of acne is a build up in your pores from not properly cleaning your skin daily. By removing that oil and dirt build up from using a toner, it assists in reducing the amount of facial blemishes and acne you may already have and work to prevent future breakouts.
5. Use to set your makeup
I often use my favorite toner to set my makeup, so that it will stay in place. Setting your makeup is an essential part to your makeup application.
How To Use A Toner:
You want to use your plant based toner after you cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser (not body soap or harsh facial cleansers). After you use your toner, you will want to use a good facial moisturizer (not body lotion!)
